Supacef® 750 mg Injection (Cefuroxime Sodium)

Supacef

Category: ANTI BIOTICS

Product Description

Supacef® 750 mg Injection contains Cefuroxime Sodium, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to bacterial cell death.

Supacef® Injection is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections and for surgical prophylaxis. It is stable against many β-lactamases, making it effective against numerous resistant pathogens commonly encountered in hospital and community settings.

Supacef® Injection is indicated for the treatment of susceptible infections, including:

  • Lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia
  • Upper respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, tonsillitis, and otitis media
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Septicaemia (bacteraemia)
  • Meningitis caused by susceptible organisms
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Intra-abdominal infections
  • Pelvic infections
  • Surgical prophylaxis in orthopaedic, gastrointestinal, gynaecological, cardiovascular, thoracic, and urological procedures
